Reading with Ms. Brianna LaFontaine's Class

Today, I had the opportunity to read my first two books to Ms. Brianna LaFontaine’s class, a special needs classroom at Woodhull Intermediate School in Huntington, NY. Ms. LaFontaine’s class was so warm and welcoming. The students were completely engaged and asked me tons of questions about my books, and even asked me about my favorite foods and favorite pop stars!

As always, the highlight was reading my books and seeing their faces light up as they heard my stories about perseverance and hope. Following my reading, we talked about the characters. My visit ended with a trip to their classroom fish pond outside in the school courtyard. It was such a rewarding visit for me, the students were friendly, happy, and adorable. I look forward to my next visit with my latest book!
